Huawei Technologies is preparing to unveil its Mate 80 flagship smartphone series next month, according to recent leaks from Chinese tech bloggers.

The information suggests the launch is imminent, with offline promotional materials now in preparation. This follows the June release of Huawei's Pura 80 series, which positioned itself around "pioneer imaging aesthetics."

Four Models Planned with Wide Price Range

The Mate 80 lineup will include four models, according to the blogger reports. The standard Mate 80 is expected to start at RMB 5,499 yuan ($760), while the Mate 80 Pro will begin at RMB 6,499 yuan. A "Premium Edition" of the Pro model may launch at RMB 6,199 yuan. The high-end Mate 80 Pro+ is anticipated to start at RMB 8,499 yuan, with the top-tier Mate 80 RS Ultimate Design edition potentially priced from RMB 11,999 yuan.

Shift to Flat Displays and Enhanced Specifications

All models will reportedly abandon curved screens in favor of flat displays. The standard version features a 6.75-inch 1.5K resolution screen, while premium variants sport a 6.89-inch 1.5K dual-layer OLED display with peak brightness reaching 4,000 nits. The series may showcase ultra-narrow bezels of approximately 1.2mm, achieving a 94.5% screen-to-body ratio.

The devices are expected to debut Huawei's Kirin 9030 flagship processor, paired with 6,000mAh silicon-carbon batteries supporting 100W wired and 80W wireless charging. The series will run HarmonyOS 6 and include satellite connectivity capabilities.

The launch comes as Huawei continues rebuilding its smartphone business following U.S. sanctions. The November release will test market appetite for premium Chinese smartphones amid ongoing geopolitical tensions.
