Nio Targets Aggressive Annual Growth After Hitting One Million Vehicle Milestone
Nio has produced its one-millionth mass-produced vehicle, a milestone that the Chinese electric vehicle maker used to outline ambitious growth targets for the coming years.
According to a company statement released on January 6, the milestone unit rolled off the production line at the Nio Advanced Manufacturing Base in Xinqiao, Hefei, Anhui province. Speaking at the event, William Li, the company’s founder, chairman, and CEO, declared that the automaker is entering a "third development phase" centered on high-quality growth.
Li articulated a robust sales target, stating that Nio aims to maintain an annual sales growth rate of 40% to 50% moving forward. This projection underscores the company's confidence in its strategy despite intensifying competition in the global EV sector.
Key to this strategy is a continued deepening of synergy across its three brands to capture market share in various segments. Li emphasized that while the company will continue to cultivate the domestic Chinese market, it plans to expand its global footprint in a "more steady and efficient manner."
The company also reaffirmed its commitment to infrastructure and technology investment. Li announced a long-term goal to expand its charging and battery-swapping network, targeting over 10,000 stations for each service type by 2030. Furthermore, Nio pledged to maintain "resolute investment" in its full-stack technology capabilities to secure advantages in product innovation.
The production of the one-millionth vehicle marks a significant scale-up in manufacturing capacity for the Hefei-based company as it seeks to solidify its position among leading premium electric vehicle manufacturers.
