Agibot Completes SWANCOR Takeover, Teases Transformable Humanoid Robot
Chinese robotics firm Agibot has finalized its acquisition of a controlling stake in SWANCOR Advanced Materials and is teasing a new robot that can morph between humanoid and four-legged forms.
In a filing dated November 6, SWANCOR confirmed that the transfer of shares has been completed. Zhiyuan Hengyue, an entity controlled by Agibot, now holds a 58.62% stake in the materials company. Including shares held by concert parties, Agibot’s total holding amounts to 63.62%, solidifying the takeover first announced in July 2025.
Following the acquisition, a new official social media account named "Agibot SWANCOR" released promotional materials for an upcoming robotics product. The teasers show the silhouette of a humanoid robot standing up to 1.88 meters tall. A second image suggests the robot possesses a transformative capability, allowing it to reconfigure into a quadrupedal, or four-legged, machine.
Coinciding with the takeover, SWANCOR announced an early election for its board of directors. The list of candidates for non-independent directors is dominated by Agibot’s core leadership team, signaling a strategic shift at the company.
Among the nominees is Peng Zhihui, the founder of Agibot and a prominent figure in China’s tech community, widely known by his moniker "Zhihui Jun" from his time in Huawei's "genius youth" program. Other Agibot executives nominated to the board include Tian Hua, Zhou Bin, Jiang Qingsong, and Niu Jiawei.
When the deal was first proposed, SWANCOR had stated that some of its existing businesses have applications in the robotics sector, indicating potential for future operational synergy between the two companies. Specific plans for integration are expected to be announced at a later date.
