Chery Launches Pre-Sales for Fengyun T11 SUV, Targeting Premium EREV Market
Chery Automobile has initiated pre-sales for its new flagship model, the Fengyun T11, a large six-seat extended-range electric vehicle (EREV). The vehicle is priced from RMB 199,900 yuan (approximately US$27,500) to RMB 264,900 yuan, marking the company’s strategic entry into the premium family SUV segment currently dominated by rivals like Li Auto’s L9 and Aito’s M9.
The launch is a significant step in Chery’s accelerated push into the new energy vehicle (NEV) sector under its revitalized Fengyun brand. The company disclosed that the T11 has already secured 23,188 pre-orders since bookings began on August 12. To meet demand, Chery has established a new factory with an annual production capacity of 300,000 units and promised deliveries within 30 days of the official market launch.
The Fengyun T11 is powered by Chery's third-generation Kunpeng Super Hybrid C-DM system, which features a 1.5T engine acting as a range extender for its electric motors. Equipped with a 40 kWh battery pack, the vehicle achieves a pure electric range of over 220 kilometers and a comprehensive range exceeding 1,400 kilometers on a full tank and charge. Fast charging enables the battery to replenish from 30% to 80% in approximately 10 minutes. The SUV will be available in both rear-wheel and all-wheel-drive configurations, with the latter accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds.
Built on the "Panshi 2.0" architecture, the vehicle’s body incorporates 23% hot-formed steel and 20% aluminum, achieving a high torsional rigidity of 37,300 N·m/deg. A notable safety feature is its 11-airbag system, which includes a rear window airbag and a 2.2-meter-long side curtain airbag.
The interior focuses on luxury and technology, featuring a 30-inch 6K integrated screen powered by a Qualcomm 8255 chip. The six-seat (2+2+2) layout includes heated, ventilated, and massaging seats for the first two rows, with the second-row seats offering a "zero-gravity" reclining function.
For intelligent driving, the T11 is equipped with the "Falcon" advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS), co-developed with Momenta. The system utilizes 27 sensors and is powered by Orin-series chips, delivering over 200 TOPS of computing power. Chery stated its data ecosystem, built upon its global user base of over 17 million vehicles, supports rapid model iteration for the ADAS.
The launch of the Fengyun T11 is pivotal for Chery, which reported total sales of over 2 million vehicles in the first nine months of 2025, including 588,000 NEVs. The model represents a key effort by the legacy automaker to leverage its manufacturing scale and R&D capabilities to challenge established players in China's competitive high-end NEV market.
