China's Robot Era Raises RMB 1 Billion, Hits $1.4 Billion Valuation

Robot Era Inc., a Chinese embodied artificial intelligence company, has completed a strategic financing round of RMB 1 billion yuan (US139million),propelling its valuation past the RMB 10 billion yuan (US1.4 billion) milestone. The significant funding follows the company securing top global rankings for its technology and rapidly expanding its commercial footprint.

The latest investment round includes new strategic backers such as Samsung Electronics Co., Singtel, and Woori Capital, a subsidiary of South Korea's Woori Financial Group. Other new investors include Gaocheng Capital, CICC Porsche, SMIC Juyuan, and Fenghide Capital. Existing shareholders, including CDH VGC and Tsinghua Holdings Capital, oversubscribed in this round, which closed just two months after the company’s previous financing.

Investor enthusiasm was driven by Robot Era's technical achievements in embodied AI models, where it recently claimed a global number one ranking, and its deepening collaboration with Stanford University's Chelsea Finn team. The capital injection will accelerate technical iteration and product scalability as the company moves from research and development to widespread industrial application.

The company has already demonstrated significant commercial traction, securing cumulative orders exceeding RMB 500 million yuan (US$69 million). Half of its business originates from overseas markets, and its client roster includes nine of the global top 10 technology companies, with major customers averaging six repeat purchases.

Backing from Global Tech and Industrial Giants

The latest financing solidifies an "industrial capital plus ecosystem" model for Robot Era. Since its inception, the company has attracted 16 domestic and international industrial investors, the most in the embodied intelligence sector.

This investor matrix combines international giants like Samsung and Singtel with domestic leaders such as Geely, Alibaba, Lenovo, and Haier. The diverse backing spans key industries including technology, automotive, logistics, semiconductors, and telecommunications. This structure provides not just funding but also integrates industrial demand and resources, fostering deep cooperation in scenario application, supply chain security, and channel construction.

Achieving Global Top Rankings in Embodied AI

Robot Era distinguishes itself through full-stack self-research capabilities, covering the "brain" (perception and decision-making), motion control, robot body, joints, and dexterous hands. Its native end-to-end embodied model, ERA-42, integrates perception, decision-making, and control, enabling full-body and dexterous hand operations.

The company's technical prowess is bolstered by its unique deep cooperation with the team of Chelsea Finn at Stanford University. Their jointly developed "Ctrl-World" model ranked first globally in embodied tasks on the authoritative WorldArena benchmark in February 2026, surpassing competitors including Google and Nvidia Corp.

The partnership also introduced VLAW, a framework allowing Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models and world models to evolve synergistically, addressing challenges in physical fidelity and application adaptability. Robot Era claims multiple global firsts in the VLA domain, including innovations that preceded releases by major international tech firms.

Commercialization Led by Logistics and Overseas Sales

Robot Era has established a lead in commercializing its technology, particularly within the logistics sector. It has deployed domestic embodied AI logistics solutions for warehousing and express delivery in five major Chinese cities, achieving 70% operational efficiency in some scenarios.

A notable breakthrough includes a partnership with SF Express to launch a global-first embodied AI inspection solution for cross-border logistics, which is currently operating in customs settings. A single order exceeding RMB 50 million yuan (US$7 million) in this vertical confirms the company’s transition from scenario validation to mass delivery.

Beyond logistics, the company serves headline clients in 3C, automotive, and high-end manufacturing, including Samsung, Renault, and TCL Technology Group Corp. In hardware, its self-developed dexterous hands shipped nearly 1,000 units in 2025, with 50% sold internationally.
