Chinese eVTOL Maker Zero Gravity Secures New Funding to Scale Production
Zero Gravity Aircraft Industries (Hefei), a Chinese electric aircraft developer, has secured nearly 100 million yuan ($13.8 million) in a new funding round to accelerate mass production and advance regulatory certification for its fleet, signaling growing investor confidence in China’s low-altitude economy.
The Series A++ financing was co-led by Vision Plus Capital and a fund affiliated with tourism operator Xiangyuan Cultural Tourism. The investment comes as Zero Gravity achieved a key regulatory milestone for its ZG-ONE multi-rotor electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, with its Type Certificate (TC) application being formally accepted by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).
The company has also begun batch production and delivery of its fixed-wing electric plane, the RX1E-A, which currently serves as its primary revenue source with over 100 firm orders. Meanwhile, its more advanced tilt-rotor eVTOL model, the ZG-T6, is nearing its first test flights, according to the company.
The strategic backing from a tourism-focused investor underscores Zero Gravity’s focus on applying its aircraft in the low-altitude tourism sector. The partnership is expected to provide the company with critical application scenarios and commercialization channels, a key step in translating hardware development into viable business operations.
A Three-Tiered Product Strategy
Founded in 2021, Zero Gravity is pursuing a multi-pronged strategy with three distinct aircraft models. The RX1E-A, an electric conventional take-off and landing (eCTOL) plane, represents its mature product line, designed to generate early-stage cash flow. The ZG-ONE eVTOL is its next-generation focus, intended to become the company's main revenue driver after gaining airworthiness certification. Finally, the ZG-T6 tilt-rotor is positioned as a research-led project for future urban air mobility.
Production and Certification Progress
In the past six months, Zero Gravity has started mass production of the RX1E-A fixed-wing aircraft, which has garnered over 1,000 letters of intent in addition to its firm orders. To support adoption, the company has established a subsidiary to provide pilot training for private owners. For its flagship eVTOL, the ZG-ONE, the company said it has reached a preliminary agreement with the CAAC on the certification basis and compliance plan. The upcoming test flights for the ZG-T6 signal further progress in its long-term R&D pipeline.
Targeting the Tourism Market
Low-altitude tourism is a central part of Zero Gravity’s commercialization plan. The new capital from the Xiangyuan-affiliated fund is intended to deepen this focus, potentially unlocking access to scenic areas and other tourism resources. The company reported that in 2025, it has already signed agreements with multiple local governments to explore integrated aviation and tourism applications, and its "green aviation flight camps" have entered trial operations.
Strategic Investor Backing
Investors highlighted the company's combination of technical expertise and market focus. "The Zero Gravity team's deep understanding of low-altitude tourism and its new business models aligns highly with our strategy," the Xiangyuan-affiliated fund, Yancheng Huanghai Huichuang Ketai Low-Altitude Economy Industry Investment Fund Partnership (Limited Partnership), said in a statement. Vision Plus Capital noted that the company’s "technical prowess and sharp grasp of market demand" were key reasons for its investment, adding that it expects Zero Gravity to bring "disruptive value" to the low-altitude economy.
