DJI Osmo Pocket 4 Launch Expected in December with Major Hardware Upgrades

DJI is reportedly preparing to unveil its next-generation handheld gimbal camera, the Osmo Pocket 4, marking the first update to the product line in over two years, according to recent leaks from industry sources.

According to reports published by Chinese tech outlet IT Home on November 12, 2025, citing leaker Hakasushi on X platform and information from NoteBook Check, the new device is scheduled for release in December.

Leaked images suggest the Osmo Pocket 4 will feature a slightly longer body compared to its predecessor, with two additional physical buttons integrated near the flip screen storage area to enhance operational convenience. The most significant upgrade appears to be in imaging capabilities, with the device expected to incorporate an OmniVision OV50R40 sensor featuring 50 megapixels and a 1/1.3-inch sensor size. The camera will reportedly support 110dB HDR dynamic range in single exposure mode.

Sources from The New Camera indicate that the Osmo Pocket 4 has entered beta testing phase, with field tests currently underway to assess operational stability and performance.

The previous model, Osmo Pocket 3, was launched in late 2023 and features a stacked CMOS sensor capable of recording 4K video at 120fps and capturing 9.4-megapixel photos, with support for 10-bit D-log M and HLG modes. The device's price has since dropped to RMB 2,799 (approximately US$385).

The anticipated launch comes as DJI continues to strengthen its position in the consumer camera market, with the Osmo Pocket series targeting content creators and vloggers seeking compact, stabilized video solutions. The upgraded sensor and enhanced physical controls suggest the company is responding to user demands for improved image quality and usability in a portable form factor.
