Honor Reportedly Developing Smartphone with 10,000mAh Battery
Honor is rumored to be developing a new mid-range smartphone that will feature a 10,000mAh battery, a capacity that would be an industry first for a mainstream handset and significantly larger than current market offerings, according to a recent report from China.
The details were circulated in a September 18 post by "Digital Chat Station," a prominent technology blogger known for leaking information about unreleased devices on Chinese social media. The report identifies the upcoming device as the Honor Power 2.
This development follows the launch of the first-generation Honor Power in April 2025, a device that set a new benchmark at the time by incorporating an 8,000mAh "Qinghai Lake" battery. That battery reportedly utilized silicon-carbon anode technology with a silicon content of over 10% to achieve an energy density of 821Wh/L, offering extended performance even in extreme temperatures.
According to the new report, the Honor Power 2 will build upon this foundation by leveraging the large-scale commercialization of advanced silicon-carbon anode materials to push its battery capacity to 10,000mAh.
Honor has not made any official announcements regarding the Power 2 or its specifications, and the company has not responded to the leak.
If the reports are accurate, the launch of a smartphone with a battery capacity rivaling that of many portable power banks could be a major differentiator in the competitive mid-range market. Such a device would aim to eliminate "battery anxiety" for heavy users and could set a new standard for longevity in mobile phones.
