Huawei's Mate 80 Series May Include Pro Max Model with Built-in Cooling Fan

Huawei is expected to unveil its Mate 80 flagship smartphone series in November 2025, potentially featuring a new "Pro Max" variant equipped with an integrated cooling fan, according to Chinese tech blogger reports.

Digital blogger @ChaoWeijie disclosed this week that the gaming-focused model will incorporate an active cooling system not present in other Mate 80 variants. Previous leaks suggest the fan measures less than 1 centimeter in diameter with a 2-millimeter thickness, capable of spinning at nearly 10,000 revolutions per minute to deliver targeted airflow to the motherboard's core components.

The naming convention for this performance-oriented model remains unconfirmed, with speculation ranging from Mate 80 GT to Mate 80 Pro++. The blogger suggests "Pro Max" is most likely, aligning with broader industry naming trends in 2025.

According to circulating reports, the Mate 80 series will mark a design shift from curved to flat displays across all models. The standard version is rumored to feature a 6.75-inch 1.5K resolution flat screen, while premium variants may sport a 6.89-inch 1.5K dual-layer OLED display with peak brightness reaching 4,000 nits. The devices are expected to showcase ultra-narrow bezels approximately 1.2mm wide, achieving a 94.5% screen-to-body ratio.

Hardware specifications reportedly include the debut of Huawei's Kirin 9030 flagship processor, a 6,000mAh silicon-carbon battery supporting 100W wired charging and 80W wireless charging. The series will launch with HarmonyOS 6 and incorporate satellite connectivity features.

This launch follows Huawei's June 2025 release of the Pura 80 series, which emphasized advanced mobile photography capabilities. The Mate 80 lineup represents the company's year-end flagship offering.
