Li Auto Exposed 2026 Roadmap Highlights Flagship i9 SUV and Expanded Pure Electric Lineup

A leading Chinese new energy vehicle manufacturer is reportedly set to accelerate its transition into the battery electric market by introducing a comprehensive lineup of new models in 2026, headlined by a premium flagship SUV designed to compete in the high-end luxury segment.

According to a report by Chinese tech media outlet CNMO published on December 26, leaked product plans indicate that Li Auto intends to launch four pure electric vehicles next year. This strategic move aims to diversify the company's revenue stream beyond its successful extended-range offerings.

The leaked roadmap reveals that the 2026 portfolio will include the i9 flagship SUV, the six-seater i8, the five-seater i6, and the pure electric MPV MEGA. The spotlight falls primarily on the i9, which is expected to debut in the first half of 2026. Positioned to fill the gap in the brand's top-tier electric matrix, the i9 carries an estimated starting price above RMB 400,000 yuan (approximately US$55,100). Based on spy shots referenced in the report, the vehicle will feature a full-size design with a length exceeding 5.2 meters and a wheelbase totaling over 3 meters, ensuring substantial interior space.

Market analysts view this product expansion as a critical evolution for the company. Research from Soochow Securities suggests the i9 is essential for completing the brand's high-end product structure. Additionally, Guosen Securities notes that Li Auto is entering a "dual-drive" phase, balancing its dominance in the extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) sector with an aggressive push into full electric propulsion. The report also mentions potential adjustments to the existing EREV product line, including the possible addition of an "L9L" model and a streamlining of the L-series.

By fleshing out both its EREV and purely electric portfolios, Li Auto Inc. appears poised to cover a wide price spectrum ranging from RMB 200,000 to over RMB 400,000. This comprehensive coverage is expected to be a decisive factor as the Beijing-based automaker seeks to secure its market share amidst intensifying competition in the global electric vehicle industry.
