OPPO Reno 16 Pro Series Configuration Details Surface Ahead of Mid-2026 Launch
Details of OPPO's upcoming Reno 16 Pro series have emerged online, suggesting the Chinese smartphone maker is preparing to unveil its next-generation device with significant hardware upgrades in the first half of this year.
According to a report published by TechWeb on January 23, 2026, a Chinese tech blogger has shared alleged specifications and design details of the unreleased device. The leak follows the successful launch of the Reno 15 series in November 2025, which received positive user feedback for its design and imaging capabilities.
The Reno 16 Pro series is expected to feature a 6.78-inch 1.5K resolution display with slim bezels and a flat screen design. The device will reportedly be available in four color options: white, black, purple, and green. Under the hood, the smartphone may be powered by either MediaTek's Dimensity 9400+ or 9500s chipset. The Dimensity 9400+ is an upgraded version built on TSMC's 3nm process, featuring an all-big-core CPU architecture with one Cortex-X925 ultra-large core, three Cortex-X4 cores, and four Cortex-A720 cores, with enhanced clock speeds compared to its predecessor.
Storage configurations are expected to range from 12GB+256GB to 16GB+1TB, providing multiple options for consumers. In the imaging department, the device will allegedly pack a 200-megapixel main camera with a large sensor and include a periscope telephoto lens. The battery capacity is reported to reach approximately 7,000mAh, representing a substantial increase from the Reno 15 Pro's 6,500mAh battery.
For context, the current Reno 15 Pro features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with 2772×1272 resolution, MediaTek Dimensity 8450 chipset, and a quad-camera setup including 200MP main, 50MP ultra-wide, and 50MP periscope telephoto sensors.
The Reno 16 Pro series is anticipated to launch in mid-2026, likely before the annual 618 shopping festival, one of China's major e-commerce events. OPPO has not officially confirmed these specifications or the launch timeline.
