Hangzhou-based Unitree Robotics (宇树科技) plans to file for an initial public offering in China during the fourth quarter of 2025, according to a company announcement on the social media platform X, which was subsequently reported by Bloomberg News. The move is expected to provide the first comprehensive public disclosure of the robotics firm's financial and operational data.

The IPO application is scheduled for submission between October and December, the company stated in its post.

As a preview of its business performance, Unitree revealed its sales composition for 2024, with quadruped robots accounting for 65% of the total and humanoid robots making up 30%. The company noted that further details would be made available in its official IPO prospectus.

Unitree emphasized its focus on civilian applications, clarifying that all its humanoid robots sold in 2024 were intended for research, education, and consumer markets. In a separate update, the company also mentioned that it had resolved a security vulnerability in its Go1 robot dog in March after potential hacking risks were identified online.

A successful listing would provide Unitree with significant capital to fund research, scale production, and compete in the rapidly growing global robotics industry. The public offering will also bring increased transparency and regulatory scrutiny to one of China's prominent players in the quadruped and humanoid robot sectors.
