Vivo to Debut MediaTek's Top-Tier Chip in New X300 Flagships

Vivo Mobile Communication will launch its new X300 series smartphones on Oct. 13, debuting MediaTek Inc.'s latest Dimensity 9500 processor and aiming to secure a leading position in mobile videography with advanced camera features.

The Chinese electronics maker announced via its official social media accounts that two models, the X300 and X300 Pro, will be unveiled as its annual camera flagships at an event scheduled for 7:00 p.m. local time.

The X300 Pro is set to introduce what the company calls the world's first 4K video recording at 60 frames per second in a cinematic portrait mode. This capability stems from a deep hardware integration between Vivo's proprietary V3+ imaging chip and the Dimensity 9500 chipset, a move aimed at challenging rivals in the premium smartphone market.

The exclusive debut of the Dimensity 9500 gives Vivo a first-mover advantage with the new silicon, while providing a high-profile launch platform for MediaTek's flagship chip as it competes for market share in the high-end segment.

Pro Model Targets Videography Dominance

Vivo is marketing the X300 Pro with the tagline "Android Video King," underscoring its focus on video performance. The device will enable real-time beautification and background blur (bokeh) effects while recording in its 4K 60fps cinematic mode. The company also announced the addition of new creative video styles, including "Cold Gel" and "Negative Film" filters, to enhance the phone’s appeal to content creators.

Standard Model Balances Power and Portability

The product line demonstrates a clear differentiation strategy, with the standard X300 model continuing Vivo's approach of packing powerful camera hardware into a more compact body. The device will feature a 6.31-inch flat screen and an APO (Apochromatic) periscope lens. Its design emphasizes ergonomic grip and portability, with features such as equally narrow screen bezels and enhanced eye-protection technology for the display.

Core Technology and Biometric Upgrades

Beyond the new MediaTek processor, the X300 series will also feature an upgraded "Ultrasonic Fingerprint 2.0" sensor. Vivo is highlighting the technology's improved success rate for unlocking the device with wet hands, addressing a common usability issue for in-display fingerprint scanners. This focus on core hardware and biometric refinement complements the series' primary emphasis on camera innovation.
