Huawei Expands Premium Device Lineup With Upgraded Smartwatch, AI-Powered Earphones
Huawei Technologies has launched a new range of high-end wearable devices and a smart television, signaling a continued strategic focus on expanding its premium consumer electronics ecosystem with advanced health and AI-driven features.
The Chinese technology giant on Tuesday unveiled its Watch GT 6 series, FreeClip 2 open-ear earphones, and Vision 5 Pro smart TVs. The new products emphasize significant upgrades in battery technology, health monitoring capabilities, and on-device artificial intelligence.
The launch showcases Huawei’s efforts to bolster its portfolio of interconnected devices, targeting the mid-to-high end of the consumer market. The new offerings incorporate proprietary technologies like the NearLink short-range wireless standard and Huawei’s self-developed AI processors.
These devices aim to strengthen the company’s position in the lucrative Internet of Things (IoT) space. The updated lineup demonstrates a push to compete on premium features and ecosystem integration, a key pillar of Huawei’s consumer business strategy.
Advanced Health Tracking Defines New Watch
The flagship wearable, the Huawei Watch GT 6 series, arrives with a strong emphasis on upgraded sensor technology and health analytics. The series includes the Watch GT 6, available in 41mm and 46mm sizes starting at RMB 1,488 and RMB 1,588 respectively, and a Watch GT 6 Pro model priced at RMB 2,488.
A key highlight is the industry-first atrial fibrillation load statistics function, designed to provide deeper insight into heart health. The watch also introduces a new “scenic health summary” that integrates data on emotion, sleep, and exercise to offer personalized health advice. For performance, it features a new high-silicon stacked battery that boosts capacity by 65% over the previous generation, enabling up to 21 days of light use. The device also supports NearLink for use as a digital car key and features 20% greater location accuracy with its upgraded positioning system.
AI and Design in Focus for FreeClip 2
In the audio segment, Huawei introduced the FreeClip 2, a set of open-ear earphones priced at RMB 1,299 yuan (US$179). Positioned for the mid-to-high-end market, the earphones are powered by Huawei's self-developed NPU AI processor and a third-generation audio chip.
This hardware enables advanced features such as real-time, multi-language translation and intelligent audio optimization. The design retains the C-bridge shape of its predecessor but uses lighter materials, reducing the weight of each earbud to 5.1 grams. The device supports NearLink for enhanced connectivity and is compatible across iOS, Android, and Windows operating systems, broadening its potential user base.
Premium Smart TV Aims for Home Theater Market
The company also refreshed its home entertainment line with the Huawei Vision 5 Pro, a smart TV featuring a Super Mini LED display and a 99% screen-to-body ratio. It is available in 65-inch, 75-inch, and 85-inch models, with prices ranging from RMB 6,499 to RMB 10,999.
The television is equipped with the AI Honghu picture quality engine to dynamically optimize color and boasts a peak brightness of 1,100 nits. Its audio system includes a 2.1 channel setup with 130W speakers and an independent subwoofer. With dual Vivid certifications for HDR and 3D sound, the Vision 5 Pro is positioned to deliver a cinema-grade audiovisual experience.
