Xiaomi Plans Model Expansion with Three New Vehicles Targeting SUV and Luxury Segments
Xiaomi is reportedly expanding its automotive portfolio with three new vehicle models slated for release in 2026, diversifying beyond its initial sedan offering to capture broader segments of the electric vehicle market including family, luxury, and performance categories.
Leaked details identify the upcoming lineup as the Xiaomi YU9, a large extended-range electric SUV; the Xiaomi SU7 L, a long-wheelbase executive sedan; and the Xiaomi YU7 GT, a high-performance track-focused SUV. The exposure of these models aligns with previously circulated internal roadmaps, confirming codenames MX11-GT, MS11-L, and Kunlun.
The flagship entrant, the YU9, marks the technology giant's strategic entry into the extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) sector, featuring a combined range estimated at 1,500 kilometers. Simultaneously, the YU7 GT has been observed undergoing testing at the Nürburgring, targeting the high-performance segment with a powertrain output potentially surpassing 1,000 kilowatts.
These additions aim to build on the market presence of existing models, challenging incumbents in the fiercely competitive large SUV and executive sedan spaces while catering to distinct consumer scenarios.
Entering the Large SUV Market
The Xiaomi YU9, historically developed under the codename "Kunlun," represents the company’s first foray into large extended-range SUVs. The vehicle is designed with a square, substantial aesthetic, featuring a length expected to exceed 5.2 meters and a wheelbase surpassing 3 meters. It is projected to offer 6-seat and 7-seat configurations, positioning it directly against various "9-series" large SUVs currently dominating the market.
Technical specifications indicate the YU9 will utilize a 1.5T range extender paired with an 800V high-voltage fast-charging platform. Equipped with an 80kWh battery pack, the vehicle reportedly achieves a pure electric range of over 400 kilometers under CLTC standards, with a comprehensive range nearing 1,500 kilometers. The design incorporates a charging port on the rear left and a fuel filler on the rear right. The entry of Xiaomi into the large six-seater SUV segment introduces significant competition to an already crowded automotive category.

Focus on Executive Luxury
The Xiaomi SU7 L, identified by the internal code MS11-L, acts as an extended version of the current Xiaomi SU7. Spy shots of the testing vehicles reveal a noticeable elongation behind the B-pillar compared to the standard model, resulting in a vehicle length approaching 5.2 meters and a wheelbase exceeding 3.1 meters.
Unlike the standard SU7’s focus on sportiness, the SU7 L is positioned as an executive luxury vehicle with a stronger emphasis on rear-seat space and comfort. The elongated profile provides a more commanding road presence, signaling a shift toward the administrative sedan market.

High-Performance Capabilities
Rounding out the expansion is the Xiaomi YU7 GT, a performance-oriented SUV derived from the YU7 model and developed under the codename MX11-GT. While retaining the general design language of the YU7, this variant features a wide-body design, broader tires, and a lowered chassis to enhance aerodynamic performance and visual muscularity.

The vehicle is expected to feature a tri-motor system with a combined power output exceeding 1,000 kilowatts. Recent sightings of the vehicle conducting lap tests at the Nürburgring suggest clear ambitions to compete in the high-performance SUV sector. All three models are projected for market launch in 2026.
