Huawei-Backed Seres Aito M7 SUV Receives 150,000 Pre-Orders in 24 Hours

Seres Group reported that its new Aito M7 SUV received more than 150,000 pre-orders within 24 hours of launch, highlighting strong consumer demand for Huawei Technologies automotive technology partnership.

The vehicle, developed under the HarmonyOS Intelligent Mobility alliance, opened for pre-orders on September 5 with a starting price of 288,000 yuan ($39,600). The company announced the pre-order milestone on September 6.

The updated M7 measures 5,080mm in length, 1,999mm in width, and 1,780mm in height, with a 3,030mm wheelbase. New features include rear entertainment screens, a 7.3-liter compression refrigeration and heating box, and zero-gravity driver seats, positioning the vehicle in China's premium SUV segment.

Early reservation momentum exceeded company projections, with Huawei Consumer Business Group Chairman Richard Yu posting on social media that the vehicle reached 100,000 pre-orders in 43 minutes, calling the performance "far beyond expectations."

Customers placing pre-orders through September 23 receive a promotional offer where a 2,000 yuan deposit counts as 5,000 yuan toward the final purchase price.

The strong initial response reflects growing market acceptance of Huawei's automotive technology integration, as the company expands its presence in China's competitive electric and hybrid vehicle market through partnerships with traditional automakers.
