Mixue Opens First US Store in Los Angeles as Global Expansion Accelerates

Mixue Ice Cream, China’s largest bubble tea chain by store count, has initiated trial operations for its first outlet in the United States, marking a significant step in the newly listed company's aggressive international expansion strategy.

The inaugural US store is located on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles, directly opposite the TCL Chinese Theatre. Company representatives confirmed that the brand’s US business operations are "advancing steadily," with concurrent plans to expand into New York and Mexico.

Marketing for the Los Angeles location targets price-sensitive consumers, a strategy consistent with the brand's positioning in its home market. During the soft opening, the store launched pre-sale bundles via the Fantuan delivery platform priced at US$3.99, which include two beverages and an ice cream. Promotional campaigns have included distributing free drinks at the University of Southern California and offering ice cream to customers who sing the brand’s theme song. To cater to local tastes, the menu includes sweetness options ranging up to 200%.

The US entry follows the company’s initial public offering on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in March 2025. In its interim results released in August, the company reported first-half revenue of RMB 14.87 billion (US$2.06 billion), representing a 39.3% increase year-on-year. Net profit for the same period rose 44.1% to RMB 2.72 billion.

Mixue has rapidly scaled its global footprint since its listing. As of June 30, the company operated 53,014 stores worldwide, a net increase of 9,796 locations compared to the previous year. Its overseas network has expanded to 4,733 stores across 12 countries.
