Redmi Turbo 5 Receives Network Approval, Features 100W Fast Charging
Redmi's upcoming Turbo 5 smartphone has officially received network approval in China, signaling an imminent launch, according to disclosures from technology bloggers this week.
The device will support 100W wired fast charging, based on recently released regulatory filings. The Turbo 5 series is expected to include two variants: a standard version and a Pro model, both featuring significant battery upgrades over the current Turbo 4, which launched earlier in 2025 with a 6,550mAh battery capacity.
The standard Redmi Turbo 5 will reportedly house a 7,500mAh battery, representing a nearly 15% increase in capacity from its predecessor. The Pro version is expected to incorporate a silicon-carbon anode single-cell battery with approximately 9,000mAh capacity, according to industry leaks.
The standard model will feature a 6.5-inch LTPS flat display with a metal frame and large rounded corners, design elements typically reserved for premium-tier devices. The phone will debut with MediaTek's Dimensity 8500 processor, manufactured using TSMC's 4-nanometer process. The chipset employs an 8-core A725 architecture with a maximum clock speed of 3.4GHz and integrates a Mali-G720 GPU running at 1.5GHz. The configuration is expected to achieve an AnTuTu benchmark score exceeding 2.2 million points.
The Pro variant will be powered by a Dimensity 9-series flagship processor, though specific details remain undisclosed.
Both models will include optical in-display fingerprint sensors and IP68-rated dust and water resistance.
Redmi, Xiaomi's budget-focused sub-brand, launched the Turbo 4 at the beginning of 2025, setting a brand record for battery capacity. The company is positioning the Turbo series as a performance-oriented lineup to complement its Note series, targeting different user segments within the mid-range smartphone market.
The Redmi Turbo 5 is anticipated to launch in late 2025 or early 2026, though the company has not confirmed an official release date.
