Huawei Launches Ultra-Slim Mate 70 Air With 6500mAh Battery, Pre-Orders Begin at $589

Huawei has initiated pre-orders for its latest Mate 70 Air smartphone in China, positioning the device as the company's thinnest Mate series phone to date while incorporating a high-capacity battery.

The device features a 7-inch OLED display with 2760 × 1320 pixel resolution and supports refresh rates up to 120Hz. Despite its slim profile, the Mate 70 Air weighs 208 grams and houses a 6500mAh battery, marking a notable combination of form factor and power capacity in the competitive smartphone market.

The handset includes 66W wired fast charging capability and integrates two-way Beidou satellite communication technology. It carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, alongside symmetrical stereo speakers.

The camera system comprises four rear sensors: a 50-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization, a 12-megapixel telephoto lens, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle macro lens, and a 1.5-megapixel multispectral sensor. The front camera offers 10.7-megapixel resolution with ultra-wide-angle capabilities.

Huawei is offering the Mate 70 Air in four configurations, priced from 4,199 yuan to 5,199 yuan. The device comes with two processor variants: the Kirin 9020B chip in lower-tier models and the Kirin 9020A in higher-specification units. Memory options range from 12GB to 16GB RAM, paired with either 256GB or 512GB storage.

The pre-order period runs from November 6 through November 11, 2025, with shipments scheduled to commence November 13 within China. The smartphone is available in three color options: Obsidian Black, Feathered White, and Gold and Silver Brocade.

Huawei has not announced plans for international availability of the Mate 70 Air.
