Shenzhen SiCarrier Draws Crowds With New Semiconductor Tools at Shenzhen Expo
Shenzhen SiCarrier Technologies, a semiconductor equipment maker, has become a main attraction at the Bay Area Semiconductor Industry Ecosystem Expo, which opened in Shenzhen on Oct. 15, 2025. The company’s subsidiaries also announced new domestically produced EDA software and a high-performance oscilloscope, signaling a push into critical segments of the chip-making supply chain.
Despite not displaying any physical machinery, SiCarrier’s booth drew significant crowds, with attendees gathering to view product images on display screens. The company showcased 16 products, including 10 measurement and inspection tools and six process tools. All products are named after famous Chinese mountains, such as the “Wuyishan” etching equipment and the “Putuoshan” PVD film deposition tool. The high level of interest persisted even without company staff present to provide explanations, and former Huawei director Xu Wenwei was seen among the attendees viewing the exhibit.
Earlier in the day, SiCarrier subsidiary Qiyunfang launched two proprietary domestic electronic design automation (EDA) software tools for schematic and PCB design. Another subsidiary, Wanliyan, is set to release a new-generation, self-developed ultra-high-speed real-time oscilloscope in the afternoon. The new oscilloscope is said to feature a bandwidth exceeding 90GHz, which would represent a 500% performance increase over existing domestic models and a multi-generational technological leap.
The launch of domestic EDA tools is notable in a market largely controlled by foreign firms. According to industry reports, the global EDA market is dominated by Synopsys Inc., Cadence Design Systems Inc., and Siemens EDA. These three companies collectively hold a market share of over 70% in China.
Headquartered in Shenzhen, SiCarrier operates research and development centers in Shanghai, Beijing, and other Chinese cities, as well as overseas. The company has established an end-to-end R&D system covering foundational materials, components, and equipment.
