Xiaomi 17 Series Sales Surpass 1 Million Units in Five Days

Xiaomi’s latest flagship smartphone series, the Xiaomi 17, has achieved record-breaking sales since its launch, with the company selling over one million units in the first five days. The strong market reception prompted the company’s founder and CEO, Lei Jun, to extend an early-bird purchase promotion.

The sales milestone of one million units, first reported by state broadcaster CCTV News on October 5, was later confirmed by Lei Jun. In a social media post on October 7, he stated that the initial sales performance had "far exceeded expectations" and announced the promotional period would continue until October 31.

The Xiaomi 17 series made a dramatic market debut on September 27. Within the first five minutes of availability, sales for the entire series set a new 2025 record for both single-day sales volume and revenue among all new smartphones from domestic Chinese brands across all price segments.

The premium Xiaomi 17 Pro Max model was a standout performer, accounting for over 50% of the series' total sales. The Pro Max individually broke the 2025 record for first-day sales and revenue for a single domestic handset model.

According to Lu Weibing, a partner and president at Xiaomi, total sales for the Xiaomi 17 lineup during the recent National Day holiday period saw a significant increase of over 20% compared to the same period for its predecessor. He noted that demand for the Pro series was particularly strong, leading the company to actively work on restocking inventory to meet consumer demand.
