Zhipu AI Launches AutoClaw Mobile App, Expanding AI Agent Platform Beyond Desktop
Zhipu AI has launched a mobile version of its AutoClaw AI agent platform, exclusively available on the Apple App Store, marking the product's first expansion beyond its PC client just two months after the desktop version debuted in March 2026.
The move signals the company's push to broaden user access to its agentic AI tools through mobile channels, where app store distribution lowers the barrier to entry compared with website-based downloads and version selection required on desktop.
The AutoClaw app supports the same core agent and group-chat creation and management functions as the PC client, with account data synchronized in real time across both platforms. Users can create multi-agent group chats to handle complex tasks collaboratively and switch between two execution environments: a local "lobster" mode, which routes tasks through a connected PC, and a cloud "lobster" mode that runs tasks entirely on remote servers without requiring the desktop to be online.
However, the mobile version currently lacks several features available on PC. Missing from the app are the "Hermes Evolution Dashboard," which tracks agent performance and aggregates usage data; token consumption statistics; and the MCP (Model Context Protocol) interface for connecting agents to external tools. The app also does not include one-click integration entries for major Chinese workplace messaging platforms — WeChat, Feishu, WeCom, and DingTalk — nor access to the Skill Store.
Zhipu AI has indicated these limitations are likely temporary. As the app's user base grows, the company is expected to progressively expand its feature set to match the PC client's full range of services.
The rapid mobile rollout — two months from desktop launch to app release — reflects broader competitive pressure in China's AI agent market, where lowering friction for new users and expanding platform reach have become key priorities. For less experienced users, the streamlined mobile interface may prove sufficient for everyday use cases, even without the advanced configuration options available on desktop.
