Huawei Set to Launch Mate 80 Series Next Week With All-Metal Design Breakthrough

Huawei Technologies announced Tuesday that its Mate 80 series smartphones will be unveiled on November 25, marking the company's latest push in the premium handset segment.

The new lineup will include the Mate 80 Pro Max, according to social media posts by Huawei Consumer Business Group CEO Richard Yu. The series represents what the company describes as an industry-first solution to combining all-metal body construction with wireless signal transmission, a longstanding technical challenge in smartphone manufacturing.

Official promotional materials released by Huawei show the device featuring a redesigned rear panel with a subtle circular ring, which industry observers believe may support magnetic charging accessories. The Mate 80 Pro Max is expected to adopt a flat display design, diverging from the curved screens used in previous premium models.

The flagship variant will reportedly be powered by the Kirin 9030 processor, with top-tier configurations supporting up to 20GB of RAM or higher. Huawei will also introduce the Mate X7 foldable device at the same event.

The launch comes as Huawei continues to rebuild its smartphone business following years of supply chain constraints. The company has focused on premium devices to maintain margins and brand positioning in the domestic Chinese market.
