Huawei Set to Launch Nova 15 Ultra With Flagship Silicon and Advanced Optics

Huawei is scheduled to release its nova 15 smartphone series on December 22, 2025. The launch event will introduce three new models: the nova 15 Standard, nova 15 Pro, and the top-tier nova 15 Ultra.

The nova 15 Ultra features significant upgrades in materials and industrial design. The device adopts an aluminum alloy middle frame, replacing the polyester materials used in previous generations to improved build quality. The rear chassis showcases a new horizontal dual-ring layout with a vertical texture finish.

Optical capabilities have been enhanced to align with premium standards. The Ultra model is equipped with three 50-megapixel rear cameras—covering main, ultra-wide, and telephoto focal lengths—all utilizing RYYB sensors to increase light intake by 40 percent. The main camera retains a physical variable aperture and optical image stabilization.

A distinct feature of the new model is the inclusion of "Dual Red Maple" lenses on both the front and rear cameras. Supported by 1.5-megapixel multi-spectral sensors, this technology is designed to improve color accuracy in video and still photography.

Internally, the nova 15 Ultra integrates the Kirin 9010s chipset, a processor previously deployed in the Pura 80 standard edition. The device includes 12GB of RAM and runs on the HarmonyOS 6.0 operating system, signaling a strategy to bring flagship performance to the mid-range segment.

The smartphone is powered by a 6,500 mAh battery while maintaining a chassis thickness of just 6.8mm. Additional features include satellite calling and offline communication capabilities.
