Huawei to Launch Mate 80 RS Ultimate Design with Redesigned Premium Features
Huawei Technologies is preparing to unveil a revamped flagship device with significant design changes and enhanced specifications, according to recent reports from technology media outlets.
According to a report published by technology news site HuaweiCentral on November 23, 2025, the upcoming Mate 80 RS Ultimate Design will mark a departure from previous design conventions in Huawei's premium smartphone lineup.
The most notable change involves the adoption of a flat frame design, replacing the ceramic rear panel used in previous models. This modification appears aimed at improving structural stability and device durability through aluminum construction. The redesign also affects the camera module, which no longer extends to the top of the device, though it retains the signature octagonal bump housing four lenses including dual telephoto, primary, and ultra-wide-angle cameras.
In terms of performance upgrades, the device will reportedly feature 20GB of RAM—marking the first time Huawei has incorporated such high memory capacity in a flagship model. Storage options are expected to include 512GB and 1TB variants. The phone will likely be powered exclusively by the Kirin 9030 Pro processor and may include a battery capacity exceeding 6,000mAh, with the streamlined design potentially accommodating the larger power cell.
The device will ship with HarmonyOS 6 pre-installed, Huawei's latest operating system iteration. Pre-orders are currently promoting three color options: Black, White, and Purple, though additional limited editions may be announced.
Huawei is scheduled to officially launch the Mate 80 RS Ultimate Design alongside the standard Mate 80, Mate 80 Pro, and Mate 80 Pro Max models at an event on November 25, 2025. The new lineup represents Huawei's continued push in the premium smartphone segment despite ongoing industry challenges.
