OPPO Announces Find X9 Series Launch Date, First to Feature MediaTek's New Flagship Chip
OPPO Technology has officially announced that its upcoming Find X9 series smartphones will launch globally on October 16, marking the first commercial deployment of MediaTek's newly unveiled Dimensity 9500 flagship processor.
The Find X9 series will be among the first devices to showcase MediaTek's latest chipset, which utilizes advanced third-generation 3-nanometer manufacturing technology. The Dimensity 9500 features a sophisticated CPU architecture comprising one 4.21GHz Travis core, three 3.50GHz Alto cores, and four 2.7GHz Gelas cores, with Travis and Alto representing Arm's next-generation X9 series super cores.
The processor integrates an upgraded Mali-G1-Ultra MC12 GPU with new microarchitecture, promising over 40% improvement in GPU efficiency and mobile ray tracing performance. MediaTek projects the chip will deliver ray tracing frame rates exceeding 100 FPS for mobile gaming applications.
OPPO plans to launch two variants initially: a standard model featuring a 6.59-inch 1.5K resolution display and the Find X9 Pro with a larger 6.78-inch 1.5K LTPO screen. Both devices will emphasize camera capabilities, with the standard version incorporating a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens and the Pro model upgrading to a 200-megapixel periscope system alongside 50-megapixel main and ultra-wide cameras.
Battery specifications include 7,025mAh capacity for the standard model and 7,500mAh for the Pro variant, both supporting 80W wired charging. The Pro version will additionally offer 50W wireless charging capability. Both models will feature IP68/69 dust and water resistance ratings.
The partnership between OPPO and MediaTek continues their collaboration in performance optimization, with OPPO's proprietary Tidal Engine technology working alongside the Dimensity 9500 processor. The October 16 launch positions OPPO to compete directly in the premium smartphone segment as manufacturers race to integrate cutting-edge chipset technology into flagship devices.
