Chinese Startup EngineAI Unveils T800 Humanoid Robot With Combat-Style Capabilities at $25,000

Chinese robotics startup EngineAI (Zhòngqíng) has launched its latest full-scale humanoid robot T800, featuring advanced dynamic movement capabilities including spinning kicks and high-speed punches, as the company aims to commercialize humanoid robots for industrial applications. The robot is priced starting at 180,000 yuan ($25,000).

The 173-centimeter robot represents a significant advance in domestic humanoid robotics, delivering what EngineAI claims surpasses 80% of human males of comparable height in physical performance metrics, while operating at one-third the cost of human labor.

The Shenzhen-based company announced it will offer four versions of the T800—basic, ecosystem, pro, and max editions—with small-batch deliveries planned for 2026, targeting 10,000 to 20,000 units by 2027. The robot has already been deployed in a trial at a JD.com retail store in Shenzhen.

Enhanced Mobility and Power Output

The T800 measures 173 centimeters in height with a total weight of 75 kilograms including battery, featuring 43 degrees of freedom throughout its body—29 excluding hands—and seven-finger dexterous hands equipped with tactile sensors capable of handling 5-kilogram loads per hand.

The robot achieves a movement speed of 3 meters per second, approximately three times typical human walking pace. Its joint system delivers maximum torque of 450 newton-meters and peak power output of 14,000 watts, comparable to the peak torque range of mainstream passenger vehicle engines rated at 300-400 newton-meters.

The hybrid drive system employs a 72-volt planetary/linear configuration, with planetary reduction modules for waist and hip rotation, and linear actuators for knee and ankle joints that simulate human thigh muscle extension and contraction.

Industrial Applications and Battery Innovation

EngineAI positions the T800 for high-intensity, repetitive physical labor in logistics warehousing, hotel services, retail guidance, and factory collaboration. The company's demonstration videos showcase the robot executing Brazilian capoeira moves, spinning kicks, consecutive strikes, combination punches, and flying kicks.

The robot incorporates what EngineAI describes as the industry's first solid-state power battery specifically developed for humanoid robots, enabling 4-5 hours of stable operation. An active cooling system across all leg joints maintains optimal component temperatures during extended operation, working in conjunction with the solid-state battery to ensure consistent performance output.

The T800 integrates a 360-degree omnidirectional lidar perception system for millisecond-level environment modeling and AI-powered path planning. Force control precision reaches 5%, enabling both heavy-object handling and delicate sorting tasks.

Rapid Development Trajectory

EngineAI was established in Shenzhen in 2023 and has received investment from JD.com and CATL. The company launched its first 170-centimeter humanoid robot SE01 in October 2023, and achieved what it claims was the world's first humanoid robot front flip in February 2025.

Company founder Zhao Tongyang stated at the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Cultural Industry Investment Conference last month that the company plans dozens of units for small-batch delivery in 2026 to validate specific industry scenarios.

EngineAI's fully automated digital manufacturing facility is preparing for mass production. The company is organizing a robot combat competition on December 24, 2025, where the T800 will serve as a core competing model.
