Honor Unveils 500 Series Smartphones Featuring High-Density 8,000mAh Battery
Honor Device officially launched its latest digital series lineup, the Honor 500 series, on November 24, 2025. The new release marks a significant shift in component density, fitting a substantial 8,000mAh battery into a 6.55-inch chassis, attempting to redefine endurance standards in the mid-to-high-end smartphone market.
The entry-level model, the Honor 500, is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor. It features a 6.55-inch 1.5K OLED straight display with a 120Hz refresh rate and advertises a 1.05mm screen bezel, which the company claims is among the narrowest in the industry. The device’s standout feature is its 8,000mAh single-cell battery, developed in partnership with suppliers including Amperex Technology Limited (ATL). It supports 80W wired fast charging. Pricing for the standard model starts at RMB 2,699 yuan (approx. US$372).
For consumers seeking higher performance, the Honor 500 Pro starts at RMB 3,599. This variant upgrades the core processor to the Snapdragon 8 Elite. While retaining the same display dimensions and battery capacity as the standard model, the Pro version adds significant hardware enhancements. These include 50W wireless charging support, an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, and Honor’s proprietary C1+ radio frequency chip for improved signal stability.
In terms of imaging, both devices utilize a 200-megapixel primary camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), alongside a 50-megapixel front-facing camera and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens. The Pro model exclusively features an additional 50-megapixel 3x telephoto lens to enhance zoom capabilities.
The series adopts a flat-edge design language, utilizing aluminum alloy frames and cold-carved glass back covers. Both models emphasize durability with IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for water and dust resistance. The devices are available in multiple colorways, including Sapphire Blue, Starlight Pink, Moonlight Silver, and Obsidian Black.
