OPPO Unveils Find X9 with Industry's Narrowest Bezels as Chinese Tech Competition Intensifies
OPPO has revealed the front design of its upcoming Find X9 smartphone, featuring what may be the industry's narrowest physical four-sided bezels, as Chinese technology companies accelerate innovation to compete in the premium smartphone market. The device is expected to debut with MediaTek Inc.'s new flagship Dimensity 9500 processor in October.
The Find X9 achieves even narrower borders than its predecessor Find X8s, which already surpassed Apple Inc.'s iPhone 16 Pro Max in bezel minimization, according to Zhou Yibao, head of OPPO's Find series products. The new model's bezels appear to be thinner than the previous generation's 1.25mm measurement.
The smartphone will feature a 6.59-inch LTPO OLED display with 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, incorporating ultrasonic under-display fingerprint technology. OPPO aims to launch the device as one of the first flagships powered by the Dimensity 9500 chipset.
Advanced Display Technology Drives Differentiation
The Find X9's display represents a significant engineering achievement in smartphone design. The device maintains physical four-sided equal bezels while optimizing what OPPO calls "golden R corners" and "golden sizing" to balance visual aesthetics with ergonomic comfort.
The 6.59-inch LTPO OLED screen supports adaptive refresh rates up to 120Hz, enabling power efficiency improvements during varying usage scenarios. The integration of ultrasonic fingerprint recognition beneath the display eliminates the need for separate biometric sensors, contributing to the streamlined design.
Flagship Performance and Camera Specifications
OPPO positions the Find X9 as its most powerful MediaTek-based flagship smartphone to date. The device is expected to achieve over 4 million points in AnTuTu benchmark testing, reflecting the Dimensity 9500's enhanced processing capabilities.
The camera system features a 50-megapixel Samsung JN1 front-facing sensor and a triple rear setup including a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-808 main camera, 50-megapixel Samsung JN5 ultra-wide lens, and 50-megapixel Samsung JN9 periscope telephoto camera. This configuration builds upon the Find X8 Pro's dual periscope telephoto system that distinguished it in the premium market segment.
Enhanced Build Quality and Battery Technology
The Find X9 incorporates premium materials including titanium coloring and cold carving manufacturing processes, representing what Zhou describes as a "major quality upgrade" from previous generations. These manufacturing techniques increase production costs but deliver improved durability and aesthetic appeal.
Battery technology receives substantial improvements with a 7,025mAh capacity supporting 80W wired fast charging. The larger battery capacity addresses user demands for extended device usage while maintaining relatively fast charging speeds compared to international competitors.
