Tsinghua-Backed eVTOL Maker Secures Series A Funding to Advance Hybrid Tilt-Rotor Fleet

Dream Chasing Sky Technology, a Tsinghua University-affiliated electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) developer, has raised nearly RMB 200 million yuan (US$27.6 million) in Series A financing, cementing its position in the emerging hybrid tilt-rotor segment of the aviation market.

The funding round was led by Civil aviation investment fund, with participation from Deqing Industry Investment and over-subscriptions from existing shareholders Peakvest and Haibang Fenghua. The capital injection marks the third significant financing event for the company in 2025 and will be deployed to accelerate the airworthiness certification and mass production preparations for its DF600 model, as well as the engineering development of the larger DF3000 aircraft.

Regulatory momentum has accompanied the financial support, with the Civil Aviation Administration of China’s Southwest Regional Administration officially accepting the type certificate (TC) application for the DF600. This milestone establishes the aircraft as the first hybrid power tilt-rotor unmanned aerial vehicle in China to have its application accepted by the regulator, a critical step toward commercial operation.

The new capital signals an acceleration in commercial scaling for the startup, which projects revenue to expand two-fold in 2025 compared to the previous year. The company previously recorded tens of millions of yuan in revenue from its information intelligence business in 2024, validating its preliminary business model amidst a broader national push to develop the low-altitude economy.

Solidifying the Investor Syndicate

Civil aviation investment fund highlighted the company’s engineering capabilities and the viability of the "hybrid power plus tilt-rotor" technological path as key drivers for the investment. The fund stated that the company’s progress in system integration and flight validation aligns with China’s strategy for high-quality development in the low-altitude sector. Hangtou Fund plans to leverage its industry resources and civil aviation network to assist the startup in scaling its engineering achievements.

Existing investors reaffirmed their commitment based on operational milestones. Deqing Industry Investment noted the company’s diversified power layout, including oil-electric and hydrogen-electric hybrid systems, which offer advantages in range and deployment flexibility. Meanwhile, Haibang Fenghua cited the clear execution of the team and the distinct advantages of hybrid tilt-rotor technology for complex geographical applications in China.

Engineering and Certification Progress

The core of ZhuiMeng KongTian Technology’s strategy involves the parallel development of two key models. The DF600 has now fully entered the airworthiness certification phase, moving closer to a commercial launch. Simultaneously, the DF3000 has reached a critical engineering node, with its full-scale functional prototype scheduled for its maiden flight in the near future.

The company focuses on a technical route that combines hybrid propulsion with tilt-rotor configurations. This approach aims to deliver a comprehensive solution that balances long flight range, high safety standards, and commercial feasibility. Peakvest emphasized that the steady advancement of the DF600 through certification and the supply chain maturity of the DF3000 confirm the correctness of the company’s technical trajectory as the industry moves from verification to deployment.

Commercial Trajectory

ZhuiMeng KongTian Technology has begun to demonstrate an ability to monetize its technology, transitioning from pure research and development to a commercially viable entity. Following the revenue generation in 2024, the company expects its commercialization process to speed up significantly throughout 2025.

Investors view the company’s ability to close the loop between research, mass production, and scenario deployment as a critical differentiator. Junshan Capital noted that the company has proven its technology is credible and its products are certifiable, positioning it to capture market share as the low-altitude economy matures. The company stated it aims to build a green, efficient ecosystem with industry partners to realize the era of electric aviation.
