WeRide Sees Public Offering Oversubscribed More Than 50 Times in Hong Kong Listing
WeRide Corp, positioning itself as the world's first publicly traded robotaxi company, closed its Hong Kong retail offering on November 3 with demand exceeding supply by more than 50 times.
The offering was priced at a maximum of HK$35 per share, with an entry cost of approximately HK$3,535.30 per board lot. The significant oversubscription reflects strong retail investor interest in the autonomous vehicle operator.
Market sources indicate that the company's international tranche has also secured multiple times coverage, attracting participation from industry investors, long-term funds, hedge funds, and high-net-worth individuals. The diverse investor base underscores institutional appetite for exposure to China's autonomous driving sector.
The company is scheduled to commence grey market trading at 4:15 p.m. on November 5, providing an early indication of market sentiment ahead of its formal listing debut.
WeRide, which develops self-driving technology for robotaxis and other commercial vehicles, is capitalizing on growing investor interest in artificial intelligence and mobility solutions as the autonomous driving industry continues to advance toward commercialization.
