XPeng to Unveil First Mass-Produced Robotaxi at November Tech Day
XPENG Motors has announced it will unveil its first mass-produced Robotaxi at its annual Tech Day event on November 5, 2025. The event, held at the company’s new headquarters in Guangzhou, signals a major strategic push into the autonomous ride-hailing sector.
The confirmation came from Brian Gu, Vice Chairman and Co-President of XPENG, during a recent interview with CNBC. Gu stated that the company's investments in "physical AI" have led to a "revolutionary" enhancement in its autonomous driving capabilities. He specified that further details on the Robotaxi product would be a key announcement at the upcoming event.
The theme for the 2025 Tech Day is "Emergence," which XPENG says reflects its focus on developing machines that can understand and interact with the physical world. According to the company, this evolution aims to transform intelligent machines from tools that execute commands into partners capable of navigating complex environments. CEO He Xiaopeng is expected to present multiple innovations related to this "physical AI" concept.
This move aligns with a strategy previously outlined by He Xiaopeng to transition from producing cars with advanced driver-assistance systems to developing fully autonomous Robotaxis. Industry observers note that XPENG's focus on a pre-installed, mass-production approach could be a key differentiator.
This factory-integrated model is expected to provide significant advantages in cost control, system stability, and scalability compared to retrofitting existing vehicles. The approach is seen as a critical step toward the commercial viability and large-scale deployment of autonomous ride-hailing services.
While the 2025 Tech Day will feature a range of advancements in artificial intelligence and autonomous driving, the debut of the mass-produced Robotaxi is anticipated to be the central highlight.
